The Haunted Ghost
by Brent Erickson

On October 27th, the Allswell family moved into the rumored haunted house at 397 Halloween Lane. The Allswell family is a family of five with a mom (Jill), a dad (Jack), two boys (Jacob, 10 and Jason, 11), and one dog (Jalmer).

On some days Jacob and Jason were home alone because their parents were still at work. Jason heard weird noises in the house, but Jacob was too busy driving his remote control car after the dog.

One day, when Jason and Jacob were walking home, Jacob saw a bunch of his friends playing soccer and went to join them, leaving Jason alone to walk home. When he got home there was a message on the answering machine, "Jacob and Jason, your father and I will be late getting home. We have some work to finish. See you around supper. Love you. Mom." Jason sat down and read a book. Jason started hearing the noises again. They were coming from his bedroom. He crept towards it. His bedroom door was open. Inside, it looked like someone was sitting on his bed. Jason walked in to see a white figure crying on his bed. He walked up and said, "Who are you?"

The figure stopped crying and explained that he had no friends, and that he was a ghost. Jason and the ghost became friends. At supper that night, Jason introduced his new friend. When the Allswell family finally left the house, the ghost could finally R.I.P.

The Ghost
by Brendan T.

Cody was a boy that lives in Edmonton. He had two dogs and four Neopets (computer pets that are popular to kids). Late one night, his computer started flashing. Commando, one of Cody's dogs, started barking at the computer.

"What do you want?" said Cody. He looked at the computer. He saw one of his Neopets on the computer screen. "That's just my Neopet, now go back to sleep," said Cody. But Commando was still barking.

"Just go back to sleep," said Cody. Cody went to the computer and turned off the screen. Suddenly, the screen turned on. It didn't sow Cody's Lupe (a wolf Neopet) anymore. Now it showed  his Pheophin (a half horse, half mermaid Neopet). "Turn off, stupid thing," said Cody, while he was trying to turn off his computer, "I knew I should have bought a new computer."

Now the computer screen showed a castle. Lucky, Cody's other dog, started barking. Then, the computer screen showed Cody's Lupe fighting against a more ferocious looking Lupe. Suddenly, a blinding light came out of the computer and sucked Cody into it.

When Cody woke up he saw a castle, the same castle he saw on the computer screen. "Where am I?" said Cody. "I bet I'm in my computer." He looked around and saw his Lupe fighting a more ferocious looking Lupe. Cody knew that the ferocious looking Lupe was Balthazar. Cody went inside the castle to find an exit. When he went into the basement, he saw a door full of spider webs. Suddenly, the doorknob of the door turned. His heart was pounding. He was sure he saw the doorknob turn again.

Then a ghost came. Cody screamed and ran out of the room. The ghost was still chasing him. Then he fell into a pit. Cody opened his eyes. He was on the stairs. I guess that was just a dream, he thought, but it felt real.

The Little Ghost Called Spooky

by Brittney Hodgson

It was Halloween night when Spooky was sent from Ghost town to earth to scare people, especially Samantha Smith who was not scared of anything. Spooky saw her trick-or-treating with some friends.

So he jumped out in front of her and yelled, “Boogey, Boogey Boo!”

Samantha laughed and took off to the next house. Spooky was getting greedy for the next trick; he tied a rubber spider to a tree and was going to drop it when she walked by.

“At last,” Spooky said as he dropped it on Samantha’s head. She just flung it off and walked away to the next house. The ghost hanged his head low when another idea popped into his little brain. He would take her candy and make it disappear in mid air. Finally Samantha walked by. Spooky grabbed her candy and made it disappear in mid air. Samantha smiled and pulled out another bag full of candy.

“THAT’S IT!” shouted Spooky and thought up something scary. He caught up with Samantha and led her to a graveyard. Spooky talked to the dead people and they agreed to rise from the dead. Samantha screamed as spirits were flying everywhere. Spooky was laughing because he scared the girl that had never been scared on Halloween night. So Spooky floated up to ghost town to brag about his night. He told how easy it was and he did not get frustrated one bit.

Jason stuttered and said, “Yes.”

Jason’s mom said, “Go to bed and forget those silly dreams.”

Jason said, “Okay.”

The next morning he went to school. When he got there he was being pushed around by older kids. They were making fun of him.

They said to Jason, “Did you have any more of those silly dreams again last night?”

Jason said, “No and bug off.”

The Cyclops said, “My name is psychic Cyclops.”

The mummy said, “My name is mummy the dummy.”
