Family Vacation to Fairmont

One afternoon, my dad picked me up from school. We went home and packed up for the weekend to go to Fairmont, and then we were off. I was not looking forward to the six hour drive to Fairmont because it was a long drive and it was going to be dark most of the way. We would not be able to see all the mountains and all the beautiful views.

When we got to Fairmont, it was about 11:30 p.m. and we had to go to bed. The next day, we ate a late breakfast and went to see the Hoodoos. We drove up a very steep hill. My dad parked the van part way up the hill and we walked up the rest. There was a lot of sand everywhere. I found a mini sand hill. 

My sister and my Grandpa climbed down the Hoodoos.  We had so much fun there. After, we went back to Fairmont, my dad and Grandpa went golfing and my sister, my Gran and I went swimming.

The next day, Sunday, we walked 6 1/2 km. to a really big swimming pool and back. After, we went swimming at the Rec Centre and that was another 3 km. and that was fun. We walked to a waterfall and looked down on the people that were walking and swimming. They were yelling at us to jump down, but they were just joking.

On Monday, we got up early, ate breakfast, and packed up to go home. Again, I was not looking forward to the 6 hour drive back home.
