My Baby Brother Jay

Babies have always been one of my favorite things because they are very cute. I am very happy because my mom just went to the hospital to have a baby. I can't wait until they come back. I'm watching T.V. while I'm waiting.

Suddenly I woke up. I must have fallen asleep. It's my baby brother!

"What's his name?"

"Jay."

"When was he born?"

"This morning at 9:03 (which is 03/21/96)." 

I am so happy. 

"Can I hold him? Please?" I asked my parents. For the first time, I could hold my baby brother. For the next few weeks, as soon as I got home from school, I played with Jay until bed time.

That is my story about my baby brother Jay.

My Great Family

There are always many interesting things that you can tell about your family.  Each family is different and it makes life interesting.  I am going to tell you about my wonderful family.  I love the best mom in the world, the most handsome dad in the world and the two greatest sisters.

I will first introduce my youngest, seven-year-old person.  Her name is Kalinka and she is one of my two sisters.  She walks to school with me.  Kalinka is in grade 2 and she is doing very well.  In fact this lady is quite ambitious and a very hard worker.  She loves to visit the library.  In fact she can read up to 10 books a day. She is always happy and she always smiles.

Then there is my other sister, Ola.  She is almost 13 and she is starting to become one of those crazy teenagers.  Ola is in grade 7 at Riverbend Junior High.  Her life is very busy with friends, school, computer, and telephone.  Ola has much less time to play with me than Kalinka.  But she always helps me with my homework.  She often encourages me to try new things.  I can proudly say that Ola is a great big sister.

Now let me tell you about my lovely mom.  My mom was born in Poland and came to Canada when she was 20.  She still has that funny accent, but I like the way she speaks.  She is a very kind person.  Because my dad works much longer hours than my mom does, then it is her duty to drive us for swimming, soccer, check our homework, and make sure that my room is clean.  My mom works at the dental office.  She cleans teeth, takes x-rays and helps her dentist to make white teeth.  I love my mom with all my heart and I am thankful for all the wonderful things she does for me.

Finally I can tell you about my dad who is my best buddy to go fishing with.  He is the only male in my family (except me).   I spend a lot of time with him.  Together we go fishing, play soccer and watch movies.  My grandma says that I look up to him the most.  My dad works hard so that I can enjoy my life.  He is never too tired to hug me or to give me a good night kiss.  I love him a lot.

Now its time to introduce the author of this story.  My name is Igi and I am a good little boy that is in grade 5.  Soccer and fishing are my 2 favorite hobbies.  I don’t really like to clean my room, and take showers.  I love to sleep and eat candy.  I have lots of good friends and I always find time to play with them.  My mom says this is probably the reason that I have less time to write storied and read.  Now dear readers, you got a brief summary of my family.  At the end I can tell you one more time that I love my family and I am very happy to have them around me.
