The Mist
by Keaton Lechelt
Hi! My name is Keaton and this is a story about something
that happened on Halloween night that I will never forget!
On Halloween night, my mom let me walk to my friend's
party that was supposed to be a big hit. It was incredibly freaky how I
didn't know if someone was going to pounce on me from behind a bush. The
air was cold and crisp. I could barely see the moon because the clouds
covered almost all of it. I could hear the coyotes howl in the distance.
Every crack in the sidewalk looked like a worm and seemed as if they were
moving. It was so quiet I could only hear the snow go crunch, crunch under
my warm, cozy boots. I walked and walked until I came to a gate that said
"CEMETERY". It was the city cemetery and it always gave me the
creeps. I wanted to run so that I could get to my friend Peter's house.
For some reason, something was holding me back.
"Boo!" yelled a voice behind me. I jumped. It
was only my friend George.
"Don't scare me like that," I said, still scared
out of my wits.
George and I kept walking. I felt a lot better with George
by my side.
"Wait, I have to tie my shoe," George said,
making sure I didn't keep going. He tied his shoe and we continued
walking. For some reason, the air wasn't cold anymore. After a while,
George had to stop to tie his shoes again.
"What? I thought I just tied them," he said in
suspicion. He tied them again and we kept walking. "I can see Peter's
house."
We ran until we got to Peter's doorstep. George's shoe was
untied again. Before he could tie his shoe, some green mist appeared. It
surrounded us. When the green mist was gone, George and I couldn't believe
our eyes!
"Where are we?" I questioned George.
"I have no clue," he answered back.
If I was correct, we were on an island. A BIG island!
Right away, we both knew we had to make our beds before it got too late.
We gathered leaves and tree branches for our beds. We were too tired to
talk so we just went straight to bed.
In the morning, the sky was still pitch black. "I
will go get wood for a fire," I said to George.
"Okay," George answered back. I walked into the
woods. The trees were all weird shaped and coloured. I thought I could
hear bats, but I thought bats only came out at night. It was strange.
There was no white snow; it was all dark black. I started to pick some
limbs off a tree.
"Hey, don't do that," a voice said.
"W-w-who are you?" I asked.
"The tree, you silly."
"Yes, the tree," the tree said again.
"Ahh!" I screamed, and ran out of the woods as
fast as I could. "I heard a tree talk!" I told George, still
huffing and puffing.
"Don't be silly," said George.
"I'm serious," I told back.
"You were probably imagining things," George
said.
"But..." I never managed to finish my sentence,
because I saw something just fly by.
"What was that?" I asked George.
"I have no clue," he answered back. "We
better check it out."
"I'm not going in there again," I said.
"Oh, yes, you are," said George. After a long
debate, he convinced me to go with him. We walked into the woods and every
tree I saw looked like it had a face. It was freaky. Then we heard the
noise again. This time it was louder.
"It's coming from the talking tree," I said.
"How many times do I have to remind you. There are no
such things as talking trees," said George.
Not a moment later, the tree started to talk.
"Hello," the tree said in a loud and powerful voice.
We did not answer.
"Well, maybe there are such things as talking
trees," commented George. We walked closer to the tree. We heard that
noise from the tree again. This time it sounded a lot like a moan.
"Since there is something in there, there must be a
way in," I mumbled to George.
"Right," George answered back. We started to
look for a way in. After trying for a while, we gave up. I sat down on a
tree root that was sticking out of the ground. Part of the tree started to
open. "We found a way in," I said. "Let's go."
We saw a staircase. It was long and wound around in a
circle. Every step we took, the stairs creaked. They seemed very old. When
we got to the bottom of the stairs, there a bunch of ghosts.
"Let's get them!" a ghost said. They picked me
up and were about to throw me into a cellar, when suddenly...
"Aah!" I exclaimed. I woke up. It was a bad
dream during my short nap. I was ready to go to Peter's party. I went out
the door. It was incredibly freaky how I didn't know if someone was going
to pounce on me from behind a bush. The air was cold and crisp. I could
barely see the moon because the clouds covered almost all of it. I could
hear the coyotes howl in the distance. Every crack in the sidewalk looked
like a worm and seemed as if they were moving. It was so quiet I could
only hear the snow go crunch, crunch under my warm, cozy boots. I walked
and walked until I came to a gate that said "CEMETERY". It was
the city cemetery and it always gave me the creeps. I wanted to run so
that I could get to my friend Peter's house. For some reason, something
was holding me back. Suddenly it happened...
The Dare
by Katrina Manning
One morning Casey woke up and looked out her window.
"This is the day that I'm going to jump my bike over my backyard
swimming pool. I dare to do it." She was a daredevil.
She zoomed downstairs to phone some of her friends. They
couldn't believe she was going to do it.
When Casey was getting it ready, she saw her friends
coming to her house. She ran into the house to welcome them in. They all
sat by the pool and Casey began her jump. When she was in the air, she
started to sink lower and lower. Her friends saw what was happening, and
ran to get all the floatation devices they could find and tossed them into
the pool. As Casey hit the water, she jumped off the bike and landed near
one of the flotation devices.
When she came out of the pool, she said she would never do
another dare!
Cemetery
by Kayla Duchene
One day a doctor was walking by a cemetery. He wanted to
go in and see if any of his patients had died. When he was looking around,
he saw his wife's name. He was scared out of his wits and ran home as
quickly as he could.
When he got home, his wife was standing in the kitchen
making Sloppy Joes. She asked him, "Why are you so late?"
The doctor didn't know what to say, but "I lost track
of time," He ate supper quickly and then went to bed early, thinking
that it was all a dream.
The next morning the doctor went to work. On his way home,
he stopped at the cemetery again. This time his gravestone was there. He
ran home even faster this time. When he got home, he asked his wife,
"How come our gravestones are up already?"
She replied, "Because we are dead people in
heaven."
The
Bell Tower
by Kylee
Darwish
Many
years ago, two sisters and a brother went to school together. Their names
were Krista, Jennifer and Marty. It was the first day of school and they
met a very strange teacher named Mr. D.. Right off the bat, Marty was sent
to the office for talking, even though he was not. Next the two girls were
sent to the office for doing handstands during free time in swimming
class.
Mr. D. arrives
at the office, and the kids complain, "Why are we sent to the office.
We didn't do anything wrong!"
This made Mr.
D. very angry and he took them up to the school's bell tower. He locked
the door and forgot about them. There they stayed and no one ever found
them.
Several years
later, people talked about three ghosts haunting the school.
A Haunted
House
by Kyrsten Bond
Today was
Klondike days, Julie's favorite time. Julie was going into the Haunted
House at the Exhibition Grounds. Last year she had been afraid, but now
she was ready to face her fears. She went into the Haunted House. It was
freaky, but she went in. It was not so bad, till Mom said there was a hole
in the floor. Julie fell into it. That was freaky.
Trevor helped
her up. Next, there was a red light that was beeping loud. She tried to
hold her breath. Next was the vampire. It moved. Julie ran, because she
didn't like vampires. Next was a person who moved in mirrors. It jumped
out and grabbed Julie. She was terrified. This was the part she did not
like. She screamed, then her mom found her in chains. She could not get
her out. That was horrible. Trevor got her chains loosened and set her
free. They ran and ran. That was the end of the Haunted House.
Everyone sighed
with relief. Trevor said, "Let's go again!"
Everyone said,
"No!"
They heard a
scream, and they all said together, "Here we go again."
They were never
going into that place again.
The Portal
by Kyle Peterson
One day, there
was a boy named Michael. When he went to school, he asked his friend Dylan
if he could come over to his house to play. Dylan asked his mom, and she
said yes.
After school
the next day, Dylan went to Michael's house. When he got there, they
played video games and watched some television. Then Dylan noticed a room
he hadn't seen before. So he asked Michael what was in it. Michael said it
was his dad's invention room, like a small lab. Dylan
asked if they could go in there.
Michael said,
"I don't think my dad will mind." So the two boys went in the
room. There were all kinds of weird things in the room. But the weirdest
was the machine that looked like a portal. Then Dylan asked if they could
go somewhere. Just as Michael was going to say no, Dylan had already
pressed some buttons. Then Dylan saw the portal open and he jumped in the
door. Michael ran and jumped in to. Then everything started
flashing.
They suddenly
fell on a ship. It wasn't an ordinary ship, it was a ship being invaded by
pirates. There were pirates that had tattoos, and there were pirates with
knives in their teeth. All the men on the ship had a sword and the men
even gave the boys a sword. When the captain saw them, he went running
after them. Then Dylan saw the pirates running to them and he said to
Michael, "He's after us." So the boys ran towards the portal and
jumped in. They were safe in the invention room.
Then Dylan
said, "I'm not doing that again."
Gimpy's
Revenge
by Keaton Peterson
Introduction:
"Hey,
Gimpy," said Keaton to his pet chameleon. Gimpy just sat there and
stared at Keaton. Keaton had an old chameleon Slingshot who you could
never, ever, and I mean never, hold. If you did, your finger would be
gone. But Gimpy was different. He liked to be held and was way younger
than Slingshot. Keaton got him on Sept. 28/01. One odd day something
happened to Gimpy and this is his story.
Chapter 1:
"Hey,
Gimpsta," said Michael excitedly.
"You're so
lucky to have a pet," said Mike.
"You have
a dog," said Keaton.
"Oh,
yeah," said Michael, remembering his little golden retriever Tess.
"Wanna
hold Gimpy?" asked Keaton and reached in Gimpy's cage. He took him
out and handed him to Michael.
"Woaaa,"
Mike said, as Gimpy crawled up his shirt. "How old is he?"
"Only
about 2 months. I guess you could say he is sort of a baby."
Later:
"I am so
bored," said Keaton. "Wanna play outside? or make clay?"
"OK,"
said Michael, "let's play outside. Just let me put Gimpy back."
Outside, they
went sledding down the hill and played in Keaton's fort. Then they had a
snowball fight with their crazy brothers Nic and Mark. After bombarding
Mark with snowballs, they went inside. After undressing from their wet
snow suits, they rumbled down the stairs to see Gimpy. Gimpy had a huge
cage about 3 and a half feet high and since Gimpy is approximately 7 cm,
he is very hard to find.
"Do you
see him?" asked Keaton. Sure enough there he was hanging upside down
on the top of the cage.
"What a
lunatic," said Keaton. Pretty soon, Mike had to go home and
afterwards, Keaton had to go to bed. He stared at Gimpy as he drifted off
to sleep.
The next
morning he couldn't find Gimpy. He was hiding in a branch and Keaton did
not see him. So he was scared until he found him hiding.
Keaton was
wondering why Gimpy was getting so big. He went to the pet store to ask
some questions. The clerk said it was very odd to see a chameleon reach 12
inches at his age of only 2 1/2 months. That would have been fine, but he
didn't stop. Soon Gimpy got bigger and bigger until he was 14 cm. Now
Gimpy can't hide so easy, thought Keaton.
"Well,
how's the big galute?" Michael said to Gimpy, but Gimpy just stared.
Didn't the pet store say that something was wrong? After another
week, Gimpy had grown to 24 cm.
"Well, he
might not get any bigger," said Mike.
"I hope
not," said Keaton. The chameleon was getting huge.
One clear
night, Keaton left the cage open. Gimpy got out of his cage and went
outside Keaton's window. Now he was bigger than a dog. When Keaton woke
up, he didn't bother to look for Gimpy. He went upstairs and watched TV .
He was very shocked to see on the news that a huge chameleon was devouring
cars and everything else in site.
"Holy
cow!" he said and went downstairs and saw there was no Gimpy. He went
back up.
Gimpy attacked
the phone lines and that was it. The electrical current made him a
monster. He got shocked and grew bigger.
Chapter 2:
Keaton was
shocked. He tried to called Michael, but the phone lines were out. He
thought he had already heard. Then he heard a knock. It was Michael. He
told him to come in.
"How did
he get like that?" he thought to himself. Just then, the power went
out all over the city. There wasn't a light in sight.
"Gimpy
trashed the power lines," Keaton said alarmed. Then a very strange
thumping sound sounded and Keaton knew what was coming. It was a big 3 ton
monstrous chameleon on an evil rampage.
"Run,"
said Keaton. But Michael was way ahead of him. Keaton's friend's house was
devoured by his huge tongue.
"Hey,
look, get in the car." Keaton wasn't even close to being old enough
to drive, but too late. Keaton drove to a military base. They got some
tranquilizers. He went to a farm where there were a lot of cows. Keaton
waited for about an hour and then saw Gimpy coming to eat some beef.
Keaton loaded the darts and shot Gimpy with a dart. Soon Gimpy was
sleeping. A huge jumbo jet loaded Gimpy and took him to a habitat that the
government made. Soon people came for all over the world to see world's
largest chameleon. Keaton was now a millionaire. So he got Gimpy out of
the government's habitat and bought him one.
"Thanks,
Gimpy," he said.
Behind the
scenes:
1. this never happened
2. I do have a chameleon named Gimpy
3. Do not ask me why I named him Gimpy
Candy
by
Kara Marcinkoski
It
was Halloween night but something was not right. Something was all wrong. All the parents were giving out fruit and vegetables when they
were all meant to give out candy. They
were all acting like zombies. My
mom and dad walked around the house saying, “no more candy”.
She is going bonkers. Actually
all the parents went bonkers after they made a bonfire with all the
candies they bought.
That
night I said to myself, “I have to find the witch that did this”.
I was the only kid in town that knew about witches that live here,
and the only one that knew how to track them down. It
must have been the witch that hates kids.
That
morning, as I rummaged through my bookshelf for my info on witches, I did
not see my parents normal again. The
things that were going bonkers this time were the kids. They were all walking straight for the haunted house on Main
Street. Thousands of people
had gone in and had never come out. What
would I do? I ran like
lightening down the stairs. I
had to stop them! I jumped
out in front of all the kids and said, “Gonhay weeou”.
All the kids stopped and headed home.
After, I found out that what I said had killed the witch.
Would
I be in danger? Who knows?

One
Halloween night my best friend and I went trick or treating as dogs.
Our costumes looked so real that we almost tricked my sister into
believing that we were real dogs. When
we went to the first house we shouted “trick or treat”.
When
the lady at the house answered the door she said, “Hey I thought that
there was someone at the door, but I guess it was just some dogs.
Well, since it is Halloween I’d better give you two a treat”.
As
the lady walked back into the house my friend and I tried not to laugh:
this weird lady was obviously blind!
She couldn’t even tell a dog costume on a person from a real dog!
When the lady returned she handed both of us a bone!
We barked a thank you, and then ran to the next house, giggling our
tails off.
As
the night went by, things started to get strange. At every house we went to we were either shooed off by an
angry parent who shouted “Get away from my house you mutt!” or we were
given another dog treat similar to what we were given at the first house.
So, all that night instead of receiving the usual candy, chips, or
chocolate bars, we received dog treats, or lectures from angry people.
Luckily we have a dog because I wouldn’t know what to do if I
didn’t.
I have decided to never be an animal again for Halloween.
Instead, I will just be a princess.
Princesses get candy.

One
Night Before Halloween, Someone or Something, Was Watching
Disappearing Act
by Kathryn Adachi
Hi.
My name’s Andrew. I’ll be the narrator for the story. Though you may
hear this story from another one of my remaining friends. Kathryn, Will,
Vanessa, or Shaun. Yep, we’re the only ones left out of ten of us.
Sadly, the rest of my friends (Matt, Ryan, Brianna, Alannah, and Sophie)
all strangely disappeared three years ago. Here’s the story.
5
days before Halloween, Will, Vanessa, Shaun, Kathryn and I, all decided to
go to our friend Ryan’s house. (By the way, we were all 18, so we
weren’t going trick or treating. We were going to have a big party
instead.)
“So.
We’re probably all going to be split up into organizing groups,” I
pointed out.
“I
guess,” said Will.
“Food
and drinks, activities, decorating, planning, and organizing probably,”
said Vanessa.
“Maybe,”
said Kathryn. “Why are you so quiet Shaun?”
“I
just have a feeling that something bad is going to happen.”
“To
us?” asked Will.
“How
am I supposed to know?! It might it might not.”
“Well
you’re all Mr. Supernatural at the moment,” Kathryn stated.
By
this time, we were already at Ryan’s house. Vanessa rang the doorbell.
Ryan answered.
“Hey
how ya doin’? Come on in. Lets go downstairs and start planning,” Ryan
suggested as we walked in. We followed him downstairs to his room. Matt,
Sophie, Brianna, and Alannah were already waiting for us.
“Okay.
Let’s get into groups. Food and drinks, activities, decorating, planning
and organizing,” Alannah explained. Kathryn and Vanessa looked at each
other and burst out laughing. Alannah glanced at them and continued.
“Vanessa and I will organize, Ryan and Shaun can plan, Sophie and
Brianna will decide activities, Will and Matt, Food and Drinks, and that
leaves Kathryn and Anton for decorating. Got it? Now let’s hear some
ideas.”
“Got
any?” I asked Kathryn.
“Any
what?” She answered.
“Ideas!”
“What
ideas?”
“IDEAS
FOR DECORATING!”
“Waddayamean
decorating?! We’re not even in groups yet!”
“Ughhhhhh…
yes we are. We’re doing decorating.” Boy, is Kathryn hard to work with
sometimes. She still is. She’s really, really good at drawing though.
“Oh.
Spider webs,” she suggested.
“Huh?”
“Decorating!”
she said mockingly. “Keep on topic!” I lost it. Sigh… Oh well.
“I
feel weird,” Ryan moaned as he walked in. “Maybe we should continue
tomorrow.”
“Are
you sick?” asked Will.
“I
seem to be fine, I just feel weird.”
“See
ya tomorrow then.” Sophie said as we waved goodbye and walked out the
door.
“See
ya.” That’s the last time we ever saw him.
Let’s
get on with it. So we went home. It was decided that the party was
scheduled for five days later on Halloween. The 10 of us were going to do
so much stuff. It would be so fun.
So
the next day the 9 of us went to Ryan’s house to see how he was. When we
got there we asked his mom where he was.
“Is
Ryan home?” Shaun asked.
“No
actually I don’t know where he went. He was here last night… he
probably went to the mall.”
So
we went to the mall to see if he was there. We checked all his favorite
shops, but he wasn’t in any of them. So we just bought some stuff for
the party. We were going to visit Ryan tomorrow.
“I
feel weird…” Alannah moaned.
“Maybe
something is going around,” thought Brianna; unaware that she was the
next one to go.
So
the next day when Shaun and me went to get everyone ready to go to
Ryan’s house, one person was missing.
“Where’s
Alannah?” Sophie asked her Mom.
“I
don’t know. She was here last night… Maybe she went to the mall. Why
don’t you check?”
“Is
it for me, Mom?” Called Dustin, Alannah’s younger brother.
“It’s
for Alannah,” her mom answered.
“Oh.
She’s not here. Maybe she’s at the mall,” Dusting called.
“I’ll
see you guys later, okay?” Alannah’s mom said as we walked out the
door.
“Bye,”
Sophie replied.
When
we went to Ryan’s house, Will asked his Mom if Ryan was home.
She
looked very worried and like she hadn’t slept at all last night. She
didn’t answer.
“Is
Ryan home?” asked Will, repeating himself.
Then
she answered, “He didn’t come home last night. I’m afraid that…
that… that…” She burst into tears. Vanessa, Brianna, Sophie and
Kathryn all put their arms around her and set her down inside. When she
calmed down, she gave us all a pile of “MISSING” posters to staple up.
(Which, by the way, became one of our hobbies that year.) So… we went
out and stapled them to every single post. Then Brianna complained.
“I
don’t feel good. I bet there is something going around. I’m going
home. Bye.” That was the last time we saw her. She disappeared the next
day, just like Alannah and Ryan.
Getting
on with the story, the next day, we went to go get everyone. This time,
Alannah’s mom bust into tears and gave us more “MISSING” posters to
staple up. So that’s what we did.
We
stopped by Brianna’s house and she was gone, too. We thought this was
getting weird.
When
there was only the 7 of us left, and only 2 days before Halloween, we
decided to go to the cornerstore and browse. Kat went over to the
newspapers and read the front page aloud to us.
“MANY
TEENAGED CHILDREN MISSING. PARENTS WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN UNNAMED,” she
read. We all looked at each other. We didn’t think that it was serious
enough for the press. There was silence among us until Matt suggested.
“Maybe
they’re working on some magic trick or something.”
“Like
what? A disappearing act? Matt, this is serious!” Vanessa shouted at
him. “We may never see them again! What do you think about that, 3
people, all in the same act?”
“Oh
come on Vanessa, they’ll come back. They’re probably just hiding on
something.” Said Matt in his defense, “They’ll turn up.” He was
wrong.
“Sorry
to interrupt your little conversation here, but I feel sick. I think I
should go home. Bye.” Sophie waved good bye as she walked out the door
for the last time.
The
next day, Brianna’s Mom gave us “MISSING” posters. She too, was very
worried. There was another article in the paper. We stopped by Sophie’s
to get her. She was gone, too. There were 6 of us. Halloween was tomorrow.
We weren’t sure whether or not we should have the party. Then Matt
decided, “If one more
person disappears we would call off the party.”
“Matt’s
right. We can’t have a party with only five people,” Kathryn agreed.
“I
feel sick. Maybe I should go… see ya.” Matt told us.
“See
ya soon, then.” Will thought we would, but that was last time we saw
him.
The
next day, Halloween, Me, Will, and Shaun went to get Kathryn, Vanessa,
Sophie and Matt. We got Kathryn and Vanessa first. Then Matt. He was gone.
Now we were really confused. First Ryan, then Alannah, Brianna, Sophie,
and now Matt. As if we knew it, as soon as Sophie’s mom saw us, she
burst into tears and gave us “MISSING” posters. We stapled those up
and went to Kathryn’s house. When we got there, Kathryn moaned, “I
feel sick. I’m going…” She was cut off by Vanessa.
“Not
without us. You can’t stay alone. Everyone who has been sick ended up
disappearing. I’m sleeping over. I’ll call my mom.”
“You’re
over-reacting. But I guess I’ll come if Shaun comes,” I told her.
“I’ll
come too, if Will is,” Shaun agreed.
“I’ll
go. I guess.” Will was coming. That meant everyone was sleeping over at
Kathryn’s house. We all called our parents and we all had permission to
stay at Kathryn’s house. She was feeling really sick. We slept in her
basement and decided that we should each take two hour watching shifts
during the night. We drew straws to see who would go first. It was
Vanessa’s turn. Then Kathryn’s, then mine, then Shaun’s, then
Will’s. So we went to sleep and Vanessa took watch. Before I knew it, it
was my turn. Nothing happened. I woke up Shaun and went to sleep.
Around
4:30 in the morning, Shaun shouted, “GUYS! GET UP! SOMETHINS GOT
KATHRYN! IT’S GETTING AWAY! GET UP!” We got up as fast as we could and
peered out the window. From what we could see, nothing had Kathryn. She
was just floating down the street. Shaun grabbed one of her legs and Will
grabbed the other. They were putting up quite a struggle to get her free.
I went to help them while Vanessa stood there looking horrified. Then, as
if she was in a trance, she ran forward blindly and kicked the air in
front of Kathryn. There was a slight grunt and then, a…a… something,
appeared with Kathryn over it’s shoulder. It turned, looked at Vanessa,
and ran. We darted after it.
“Kathryn!!!”
cried Vanessa as she ran ahead of us. I had never seen her run so fast.
She couldn’t catch up with it so she took off her shoe, and threw it as
hard as she could at the thing, and instead of hitting the thing, it hit
Kathryn in the head. She woke up and started hitting the thing as hard as
she could, screaming, “Somebody save me!!!!!!!” she cried. Shaun,
Will, me, and Vanessa ran as fast as we could to catch up with it. When we
finally did, we tackled it. We pulled Kathryn from it’s grip, Will
shouted to the girls, “You girl’s go back to the house! Let us guys
deal with this.” We watched Kathryn and Vanessa flee back to the house.
I almost wanted to go with them, but I didn’t say or do that. We turned
and started beating the thing.
Suddenly,
a man arrived out of no where and said, in a very low voice, “Leave the
goblin alone. Why are you trying to hurt him?”
“He
is responsible for the disappearances of our friends!” Shaun yelled.
“What do you expect us to do? Thank him?”
“No.
I do not.”
“Who
are you anyway?” I asked him.
“A
friend,” he answered.
“Well,
this guy isn’t too friendly,” we told him.
“Yes.
I know,” he responded.
“Well.
What do we do with him?” Will asked.
“I
can not get your friends back, but I can make sure this goblin does not
cause any more trouble,” he offered.
“So.
We’ll never see our friends again?” said a voice behind him. It was
Vanessa. Kathryn was beside her.
“Ever?”
Kathryn asked.
“I
thought you two were supposed to be inside!” I yelled at them.
“I’m
afraid not. I am sorry,” he told them, ignoring me. A single tear ran
down Vanessa’s face. Then her face flooded with tears.
“What
are you going to do with him, the monster! It’s okay Vanessa…” cried
Kathryn while comforting Vanessa.
“I
will take him far away. He will never see the light of day again,” the
man told us.
“He
had better not. Or I’ll make sure he doesn’t!” Shaun told him. The
Goblin shuttered at these words. Then the man disappeared, taking the
goblin with him. We never saw either of them again.
“I
wonder where our friends are,” I wondered, as we looked up at the stars
after awhile. No one answered. We knew we would never see them again, but
we were still curious about what became of them. We still are.
So.
How did you like that story? It’s true. That’s why you’ll never see
Sophie, Matt, Ryan, Alannah or Brianna, ever again.
The Haunted Castle
by Kelsey M. Gordulic
Once a long time ago there
lived a girl named Maria. Maria was nine years old. She liked to swim and
play sports. Maria lived by an old castle on an island located near Nova
Scotia.
Maria’s friends once told her
that the castle was haunted but Maria didn’t believe them.
To prove that the castle wasn’t haunted Maria told her friends
she would explore the castle.
So on Saturday April 10th
Maria got her flashlight out of her room and went to the castle. At about
10:30 a.m. Maria was already exploring the castle. She was a little
nervous at first but then got used to it.
Maria was looking around the
main floor when she suddenly heard a loud shriek. She looked around but no
one was there. Maria was frightened and to make her even more scared she
saw a strange figure coming towards her. The strange figure said in a
groaning kind of voice, “Leave this castle or I will haunt you
forever.” Maria was now so scared she ran right out of the castle.
Maria’s friends were waiting
by the entrance of the castle when Maria came running out. “What
happened? Why did you come running out of the castle?” asked one of
Maria’s friends.
“I saw something in there!”
answered Maria.
After that no one went into the
castle again, until 1878 that is.
